Michael Jackson : Prince & Paris Go To A Traditional School

Michael Jackson two oldest children' - Prince Michael, 13.  and Paris, 12, began their studies at a tradititional school last Wednesday - their first experience  outside  of home-schooling . But  before they could hit the books like  "normal" kids , Prince and   Paris  had to first win over  their skeptical grandmother , Katherine.

A family member close to the situation  tells PopEater that Paris  and Prince's  legal Guardian protested the idea of sending the sheltered kids to school  , feeling their father  would have disapproved . However, one of Jermaine Jackson's sons stepped in and encouraged Katherine  to allow Prince  and Paris to move away from home-schooling.

The King of Pop's eldest children are attending The Buckley School in San Fernando Valley and a parent at the school tells PopEater that things are anything but "normal" when the famous kids are there.

Both have full-time bodyguards , who partol the school's parking lot and accompany the kids  from class to class , to their lockers and even watch over them during lunch.

This kind of attention would seem to stifle their ability to fit in and make friends - two things that are important to young Prince , who was seeking a "social experience "  by enrolling at the prestigious school. Sources  say the Jackson's are the only students at the exclusive school with a full-time security detail.

"The bodyguard situation  really is a bit intimidating to other kids at the school, tell's Popeater. And that makes them hesitant to approach Prince and Paris."

TMZ was first to report that the kids were attending school.

Some in the Jackson family are also upset with this situation because they firmly believe sending the kids to school  is not something Michael would have wanted . Michael famously protected his children from the public , and they are vulnerable and exposed to the outside world.  "This is a huge change for both of them," a family source tell PopEater.

The entire family agreed Jackson's youngest child, Blanket , who  at  eight-years-old is reportedly the shyest of the three , is not ready and will stay at home with private tutors.
My spin : Well , this is a step in the right direction for Prince and Paris...Their father is dead and these kids need to be perpared for the real world...protection for your kids means  preparing  them  for the things that life throw at them. Prince and Paris will be  very wealthy young people in time and they both need to be able to separate  the good from the bad...this is the real world ...not make believe.

Avatar Re-released....Special Edition....Never Before Seen Footage

Yahoo Movies' Sean Philips interviews James Cameron:
So, a lot of people have seen Avatar.
Cameron: I think there are some mud men in New Guinea that haven't seen it.
Ah, so that must be why it's coming out in theaters again.
JC: Actually, when I was down in Brazil I was meeting these guys, these indigenous people that live way out in the rain forest and we had to take a boat, like for a couple days to go meet with them. And they hadn't heard of Avatar, they hadn't heard of me. It was really refreshing. It was nice, you know. They couldn't care less about movies. What they cared about was that their ancestral homelands were being destroyed by a hydroelectric dam, and they got their bows and arrows together and they were going to go to war to stop it.
It's like real life. "Avatar" for real.
JC: Like really for real. Not those guys, but some other ones even farther south in the upper Shingu [River] actually took a hundred construction workers on another dam project hostage -- with bows and arrows. And it's not that they are using bows and arrows to make some kind of point in the media. That's what they hunt with.

So when we see "Avatar," and it's about that at a thematic level and it's really what the stakes of the whole story are about, it's what they're fighting for, then it actually does resonate. I'm just worried that thirty years from now it wouldn't even resonate with people. That we will have become so disconnected from nature that there is no resonance anymore. And maybe nature is so distressed at that point with so many animals extinct, maybe its not 30 years, maybe it's fifty years -- but the coral reefs are destroyed and so many of the animals are threatened. They're either extinct or so threatened that they have to be separated from the human experience. Then we'll have lost that connection forever. And that's the future of "Avatar." That's what the people coming from earth, that's what they're living. They're out a future if we don't do something about it.
So are you working on any other projects right now? Or maybe these are just some of the expanded themes for the sequel?
JC: It's a vein that's going to run through the second and third film, and what that all means and how it resolves. It's really a collision of civilization. It's a collision between technical civilization and a philosophy or a value system that actually values nature. And values life in a way that we don't. So yeah, that's going to continue through the sequel and the sequel to the sequel. I mean, "Avatar" will go on as long as it needs to. I'll direct at least one more, maybe two. And then after that, it might get turned over to others. It's an open-ended story, it's an open-ended universe. So why not?
Is there anything specific that you can tease us with that we might expect?
JC: I'm not going to say too much about the sequel because, frankly, I think the fun is in the discovery. The fun is in the journey. If you know where you're going, you don't have to go, sort of thing. But I've already sort of teased with the idea that the ocean is going to be a big part of the second film. And that's true. Frankly, that's a fun design challenge. It's an exciting design challenge to do. Think about the diversity and the color palette and the amazing forms that exist in our ocean here, and then you extrapolate that farther to Pandora to a fantasy biosphere.
You can even get a sense of that with the world you created on land.
JC: Well, that's true. The terrestrial forms felt very aquatic, but that's just because I've spent so much damn time underwater. I've always said: the aliens all exist here on earth already, they just might be that big [puts his thumb and index finger together]. And they might be underwater. But all the amazing forms are already here. It's pretty hard to be more inventive than nature, and that was one of our big challenges when we were designing the films -- how are you more inventive than nature is right here? You can't.

Moments From the 2010 Emmys

Madonna Denies Access to So-called Biological Father of Her Daughter

Pop superstar Madonna will not allow a man who claims to be the biological father of her adopted Malawian daughter to see the four-year-old, a South African newspaper reported on Sunday.
James Kambewa, 26, who is working as a waiter in Durban, had hoped to meet Mercy whom the wealthy star adopted last year but Madonna's spokeswoman Barbara Charone said the child's father was not known.
"The extended family members had no knowledge of a father. The village leadership had no knowledge of a father... the mother was raped and left," the Sunday Times quoted Charone as saying.
Mercy was controversially adopted from an orphanage by the 52-year-old pop star after the Supreme Court of Appeals overturned a lower court that blocked the placement. She is Madonna's second adopted Malawian child.
"There was a three-week window between the oral arguments (in court) and the decision, when the man could have made his claim. Again nothing," said Charone. "Moreover, the Ministry of Gender has recommended that it would be in the child's best interest not to engage with anyone claiming to be a parent or guardian."
The court listed Mercy's biological father as unknown and said that she was born in January 2006 to a 14-year-old mother who died days after giving birth. Kambewa vowed last year to fight the adoption bid, saying media reports had alerted him to the child whom he thought had also died with her mother, with whom he said he had a relationship. The age of consent in Malawi is 14. He told the Sunday Times earlier this month that he was happy the star was looking after Mercy but hoped to meet her one day.

Is he or isn't he? There's only one way to tell and I'm sure Madge doesn't want a DNA test. I don't blame her for denying him access. I can think of a few reasons he would just pop up all of a sudden when he has been conspicuously absent for so long.  If he raped the  mother, he deserves quite a different fate.

Paris Hilton Arrested in Vegas...Cocaine Charge

Paris Hilton was arrested late Friday after a police motorcycle officer smelled marijuana smoke wafting from a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend on the Las Vegas Strip, then found cocaine in her purse, authorities said.
A crowd quickly gathered when Hilton and Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits were stopped about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the vehicle near the Wynn Las Vegas resort on Las Vegas Boulevard. The 29-year-old celebrity socialite asked to go into the hotel for privacy because of the number people gathering, said Officer Marcus Martin. Police later found a substance in Hilton's purse that tests showed to be cocaine.  He said it was "a small amount" of the drug, a package of the size usually associated with personal use.

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of felony cocaine possession. Waits, 34, was arrested on misdemeanour suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Both were booked into the Clark County jail, where Martin said Hilton was released without bail about 2:45 a.m. Saturday. Hilton received no special treatment during her brief time at the jail, and release without bail is common in such cases.

Less than an hour later, Hilton's Twitter account was updated with a posting that said the actress was in bed watching the television show "Family Guy," and then that she was going to sleep. It was unclear if the tweets came from her, were posted by time-release or were sent by someone else.
If convicted of the low-grade felony, Hilton would get probation. Any violation of probation would be punishable by one to four years in Nevada state prison.
Clark County District Attorney David Roger declined comment Saturday about the case. Hilton's attorney, David Chesnoff, told The Associated Press on Saturday morning that he was still gathering facts about the arrest. Waits' lawyer, Richard Schonfeld, said Waits posted $2,000 bail and was expected to be released Saturday.
Waits and his twin brother, Jesse, are managing partners of the Tryst Nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas, Drai's after hours club at Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon, and XS The Nightclub at Wynn's Encore resort.

Sorry Paris, but you're a spoiled little rich bitch. I understand you're not the brightest  light on the Christmas tree but surely you could find something more useful to do.

George Clooney : Need A Little PR Jolt ??

Stars needing a little PR  jilt would be wise to folow  to follow Elisabetta Canalis' example : Flash a fake engagement ring. And wait.
George Clooney's other half set off a firestorm at a dinner in Italy when she held up her hand and flaunted something resembling a giant , glittery rock. TMZ quickly posted photos - couching them by saying  the bauble only "looked like" a will-you-marry-me diamond.
Never mind .It was enough , and the press was off and running . Soon, headlines blaring  "George Clooney OFF the Market ?" were everywhere . The Hollywood  poerhouse's rep was quick to shoot down the buzz, saying only that the bling on the Italian model's finger was  "a napkin ring" she was playing around with at the table. Yes . Bizarre.
Those in the thick of the celebrity-gossip fray muse that  it was done for publicity .After all, Canalis , 31, has been a guest star this summer on TNT's 'Leverage' and has a new Italian comedy coming out this fall, 'I Will Marry at Christmas.' Clooney's next film, The American,' is due in theaters in September.
"Clearly people are starting to use these faked rumors simply to keep [themselves] in the news and everybody's faces," Syracuse University pop culture  guru Bob Thompson told PopEater.
It's not the first time the 49-year-old movie star and his girlfriend have been at the heart of rumors - and the the other kind , the ones about breaking up.  Last spring , the tabloids were atwitter with news that the pair , who have been dating since August 2009 , had split. The couple later quashed those rumbling rumors , with Clooney joking wrying to reporters , "Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story."
The famously stubborn bachelor, who was married eons ago , has said he would never take the plunge again because he's afraid he'd "still make a lousy husband ." But a girl can dream, can't she ? Even if it's with a silly old napkin ring? Mind you , Clooney and Canalis are not the first Hollywood couple  to generate a media blitz with bling buzz.
Read on for a history of not-quite engagements :
In July , Bret Michaels' sometimes-girlfriend was seen wearing a proposal-style  piece of jewelry, Michaels issued a statement denying they  were about to walk down the aisle. "We not engaged , it's a work in progress. What happened is she  has a beautiful promise ring. A promise ring , a friendship ring with benefits." Come again ?

Leonardo DiCaprio's girl, Bar Rafaeli , explained the engagement ring she wore on her left hand  by saying her friend makes them , she likes to try them on  and "they won't fit any other finger except this one," Talk about a quote that will leave you speechless . So far , her movie star boyfriend still haven't popped the question.

Last summer , Tyra Banks was spotted sporting something sparkly on her finger , fueling a fury  about an impending marriage to boyfriend John Utendahl. her people told the gossip mill : "Tyra is not  engaged. It's  her high school ring , and she wears it almost every day." They pair still have yet to wed.

Sometimes stars seen wearing diamonds deny they're engaged to get hitched  and get hitched in a secret wedding a few months later. (Think Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr ) Why do they do it ? To throw off the press ? To get publicity , then throw off the press ? We can speculate...
And there are those media haters, blast them , who accuse celebrity journalists of being desperate for a story , star-obessed and quick to publish  whatever gossip lands in their inboxes , true or false. To that , I say guilty , sort of quilty and not quilty. In that order.

Either way , we may be seeing Clooney and Canalis  tying the knot in a hush-hush ceremony a couple of months from now. Or we may keep reading the same rumors over and over again. But maybe , just maybe , hearing that Clooney is casting off his long- held bachelorhood will make us buy tickets to "The Americans,"
My spin : Good luck with that Elisabetta...George said up front he makes a lousy husband and who should know better than him....Elisabetta if you are happy , just enjoy the ride , a marriage may make the relationship go sour...

O'Brien Legally Gagged at Emmys

Memo to Conan O'Brien: Watch your mouth at the Emmys.

If O'Brien wins Sunday night in the variety, music or comedy series category for his aborted "The Tonight Show" -- a distinct possibility given the strong Hollywood and populist sentiment behind him in his public separation from NBC -- the host is legally prohibited from saying whatever he wants about his former bosses during an acceptance speech.
That's because O'Brien's settlement deal with the network contains strict rules against making "disparaging" comments about NBC or NBC Studios, Jay Leno and NBC executives Jeff Zucker, Dick Ebersol, Jeff Gaspin and Marc Graboff.
Those limitations end September 1, but the Emmys, which air on NBC, take place three days before that deadline. The event marks one of the first times O'Brien and his former bosses will be together in the same room. A win for "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien" would present a rare moment of high drama at the Emmys. Just how would Conan and NBC execs handle it if they had to appear onstage together?
So what can O'Brien say? More than one might think.  O'Brien's settlement deal describes disparaging comments as "those that are false, insulting or defamatory."
The key word is "false." O'Brien can poke fun at his former bosses or even take a shot at Leno as long as his remarks are not inaccurate or scornful.
"He can still have a field day," said attorney Pierce O'Donnell, who has handled employment settlements in Hollywood cases but was not involved in the O'Brien deal. "He can make fun of NBC's ratings, its shows, as long as he's not saying anything false."

O'Brien left NBC in January under a cloud after a wild turn of events that saw the network announcing that his "Tonight" would be bumped from 11:35 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. to make room for Leno, O'Brien publicly refusing to comply, and NBC and O'Brien's reps working out a $45 million deal for O'Brien and staff to leave -- all while the host continued to slam NBC on his show each night. Have fun at the Emmys Coney.

Michael Lohan on Mel Gibson : 'God Will Be The Judge'

Can you hear the crickets ? No one in Holltwood has come forward to defend Mel Gibson's horrifying cell phone  rants against Oksana Grigorieva ... until now. Michael Lohan , father of trouble star Lindsay Lohan  and a born-again Christian, is speaking  up to defend the " Braveheart" bozo.

"I will not judge him, nor will I believe his girlfriend's   apparently  doctors tapes ," says Michael, who incidentally has released  private conversations between himself and his daughter, Lindsay.

"All I know is Mel went on the line for Jesus Crist , built a church for God  and has helped many," he tells Rob Shuter. "It's so esy for others to point fingers and cast blame  when money  and pride  are involved. I pray for him and God will be the judge."

Mel is currently involved in a nasty custody battle with his ex, Oksana , and is waiting to see if  Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department investigators formally turn the criminal investigation case over to the Los Angeles  County  Attorney . The D.A. will not make a decision on weather to file charges  against Mel  until the investigation into allegations that Grigorieva tried to extort the actor are complete.

Those that rushed to defend Mel's Semitic rant in 2006 have remained silent about  Mel's  recent behavior, and I bet  Mel wishes Michael , who said, "personally, I believe Christians have been persecuted more than anyone," would remain silent too. ...stay tuned the saga continues.

My spin :  Michael Lohan is a dead beat dad and the whole world knows it and Michael is proving everyone's point by opening his mouth and putting his foot in it...why keep blaming Dina, you both are to blame  for Lindsay troubles.  Michael is just as guilty as Mad Mel,  Michael was arrested for hitting his girlfriend and arrested for DUI.
Mad Mel, I know you would like for Michael to shut his pie-hole...because friends like him...who needs enemies....DUH !!!
Kicking back  keeping it real and having fun.

Michael Lohan : Gives Lindsay A 'Lot Of Credit' For Rehab Success

The first person Lindsay Lohan called upon her  stealth release  from rehab Tuesday night was reportedly her mother , Dina. It's safe to say the last person she'll touch base with  now that she's a free woman is  her estranged father , Michael . But the distance between the two hasn't cramped  his concern  for his famous daughter.

"God bless her. Lindsay has been through a lot and I give her a lot of credit," Michael tells PopEaters's Naughty But Nice Rob Shuter in an  exclusive statement.

With niceties about Lindsay  out of the way, Michael then echoed his previous statements about his ex-wife not doing enough to keep their daughter out of trouble.

"Hopefully, Dina will do the right thing and finally get on the same page as me, because if we were most of this  wouldn't have happen in the first place."

Michael previously told Popeater that what Lindsay really needs  -  in addition to rehab for her substance  problems  -  is  family therapy with both her parents. Family therapy , according to  Michael , has, "been recommended by professionals  for years, however, Dina  just won't let it happen."

Michael contends that Dina has "failed miserably" with their daughter  but that "we have  both caused this situation  with our daughter and we need to fit it together as parents."

Lindsay was released from her court-ordered rehab at UCLA Medical Center on Tuesday  evening after serving only 22 days. She entered the facility  on August 2  to begin serving a 90-day sentence , as ordered by Judge  Marsha Revel.

Judge Revel sentenced Lohan to 90 days  in Jail and a 90-day inpatient rehabilitation program on July 6 for violating her probation in an old  DUI case . She ended up serving only 14 days due to good behavior and overcrowing at the jail....stay tuned , the Lohan saga continues...updates when available.

My spin : Michael is blaming everything on Dina , when he is just as reponsible as Dina. Tell us Michael, where was you when all this crap started with Lindsay... why all the interest now...Oh,  everyone  know you want your 15 mintues of fame.

Lindsay Lohan :A Move To New York Is Just What Lilo Needs

Dina Lohan revealed in an interview with The Today Show's Matt Lauer  that her daughter, Lindsay, plans to move back to the east coast after completing  her court-ordered  90-day stint in rehab. After reports  that Lindsay's addictions might have been over-exaggerated, the new judge in Lindsay's case is issuing a surprise ruling next  Tuesday, and Lindsay might be released from rehab earlier than expected. Lindsay was born and raised in Merrick, a Long Island suburb of New York City, and she's no stranger  to the Big  Apple. In an escaped from the glitz  and glam of Hollywood what it takes to keep Lilo out of trouble ?
"I truly feel for Lindsay, and I don't think any of us are in any position to point fingers  and judge. Most of us can't relate to the pressures  she's  faced from such a young age and what's it's like to fall apart in the public eye. I hope that Lindsay will move  to New York , stay sober, and keep progressing towards  the new beginning  she desperately needs to save herself and her  career,"  Rebecca Macatee said.
"I took the liberty of writing up a few  pointers  for Lindsay and her move to the big city. As  someone her age who's lived in Manhattan for a few years myself , I think I have some sound advice for everyone's mean girl ,"  Rebecca Macatee said .

1)  Choose location wisely - Lindsay had some trouble with over-spending and managing her finances in the past . Lindsay, get a nice little rental somewhere on Manhattan's Upper East Side. There's no need to rush into anything yet and buy a place. The Upper East Side  was once a time posh Manhattan  niche for socialities , but now it's more of a calmer , up-town Mecca for families and young professionals.  Lindsay needs a  safe, quiet place to live, not a stomping ground  for late night binges and partying.

2)  Join a gym -  Obviously , I don't mean to imply Lindsay needs to lose  an ounce of weight. If anything , I think needs to get back to eating healthily  and building muscle. Regularly working out not only sends endorphins surging through your system, but it provides routine  and stability , which Lindsay absolutely.needs .

3)  Try and make new friends - Rebecca says - "I clarify this piece of advice with 'try.' New York has a tough reputation for a reason, and fortunately it's not  easy as Cedric Bradshaw  makes oit look to assemble your own Sex and the City clique.  Being famous , and especially  a tabloid-topic like Lindsay , you have to be cautious  accepting  anyone new into her life. But Lindsay desperately needs some friends  who will be there to support  her as she gets back on her feet. Another solid way to meet new people is through work.

4)  Get back to work - For good or bad , right now , people are facinated by Lindsay Lohan.  While the world might be eagerly waiting for the starlet to crash and burn, all eyes are upon her. After Lindsay  wraps the filming  of Inferno : A Linda Lovelace story, Lilo should  try and keep busy. Whether it's an acting gig  or working on her legging line or self-tanner, Lindsay  will find a renewed sense of self-worth and fulfillment  when her focus is on propelling her career.

5)  Keep getting help - It takes a strong person to admit they need help. Lindsay  clearly has struggled with multitude  of issues. The rehab-stint might have been a quick fix, but to keep sober and sane, she absolutely needs continuted counseling . New York is home to some of the top mental health specialists in the world, and Lindsay  is so fortunate to have the finanical means to afford them. Being back on the East  coast  and having closer access to her mom  and family should be a positive step for Lindsay  in her road to recovery.
Listen up :   Now, people of the Internet , lets all send Lindsay Lohan well wishes  and positive vibes. We've all had personal demons to fight , but fortunately most of us face  these battles behind closed doors  and win.  Lindsay, no matter what, there are people still out here rooting for you , so show us what you are made of  girl.

Jonathan Rhys Myers ( Henry the Eighth) Banned From Plane For Drunken Behavior

Rhys Myers, star of Showtime's hit series, The Tudors, was allegedly banned from flying United Airlines.
A source says Jonathan was "pounding" drinks before a recent early morning flight departing from JFK Airport. Apparently the actor got drunk and disorderly at the airline's first class lounge and was prohibited from boarding the plane for his "disruptive" behavior.
This isn't the first time Rhys Myers has gotten into trouble at the airport. According to reports, he was arrested for being drunk at Dublin Airport in 2007. He was also arrested, last year, for allegedly attacking staff at a French airport bar. Both of these incidents happened just months after he reportedly checked out of rehab!
Are actors naughtier now than they used to be?? There are so many now who are always drunk or high on something or just getting out of rehab. Why can't they behave responsibly? Is it the business they are in that brings them to this sad condition?

Martin Short's Wife of Thirty Years Dies of Cancer

Nancy Dolman, the Toronto-born wife of comedian Martin Short, has died. She was 58. Dolman, who had been diagnosed with cancer three years ago, died at the couple’s home in the Pacific Palisades, Short’s manager, Marc Gurvitz, confirmed. The true cause of the actresses' death has not been revealed, but the general consensus is that her cancer returned . She had surgery to remove a tumor from her groin in 2007.

Martin Short and Nancy met in 1972 and fell head over heels in love with each other while working together on the Toronto production of Godspell that also starred Victor Garber, Gilda Radner, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas and Andrea Martin.  From that time forward the couple was inseparable right up until  the much loved lady passed away on Saturday. Dolman and Short married in 1980 and have three children, Katherine, 27, Oliver, 24, and Henry, 20. Nancy retired from acting in 1985 to raise her family.
Reports have come back that the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency at the couple's home around  8:30 AM on Saturday. The emergency crew was supposedly there for half an hour with no sign of a patient being moved.  That  would indicate Nancy died at home.

Short has been a staple of film and television for many years. He  is best known for his acting parts on 'Saturday Night Live' and the 'Father of the Bride' film series. He has been in numerous other films; 'The Three Fugatives' comes to mind. At present Short is nominated for an Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a drama category for his work in 'Damages.'

The family will issue a statement in due time. I think at the moment they are still dealing with their shock and grief. We send our sincere sympathy to the Short family.

Jennifer Aniston : 'Jen's Friends Need To Help Her More'

Poor Jennifer Aniston is going to need the help of some of our friends when seeing how badly her new movie, 'The Switch,' performed at this weekend's boxoffice . Her romantic comedy  with Jason Bateman debuted at number 8, making less than $8.1 million - that's behind 'Piranha 3D' and 'Nancy McPhee Returns,' folks . And it's left many in Hollywood asking : If we love Jen, why don't we care about her movies ?

"I think Jen's problems are two fold," Joe Neumaier , respected film critic for the New york daily News, says. "One, Jen's associated with [the character ] Rachel from  'Friends' that her fans - and maybe Hollywood - just don't want her to give up. It's tough  for an actress , who has just hit her forties . To quote the theme song, its as if they insist she be there for them, just like she's been their before."

"But  the othe issues is choice , Aniston may have a limited range, but in edgier  movies like 'Office Space,' The Good Girl' and 'Friends  with Money,' she flourished by leaving her comfort zone. Jen needs to get the hell out of the romantic comedy world  of 'Love Happens,'   'He's Just Not Into You,'  'The Bounty Hunter' and 'The switch.'

Jennifer certainly has been making films that reflect her life off screen for some time. However , this formula is no longer working . It's time to take risks in both her career and personal life if our favorite friend is ever going  to move forward . But don't get to concerned just yet.

"I think Jen's safe in terms of being cast , at least for a few years," Neumarier says. "She can still take some credit for 'Marley amd Me's success, but you can only co-star with dogs  so many times. And you can make 'dogs'  [poorly-performing  films ] even less often.

Paul  Dergarabedian from Hollywood.com confides, "Jennifer Aniston is a paradox in that after achieving such huge success on TV, she has failed to ignite any kind of interest on the big screen. If Angelina Jolie is hot sauce  and Sandra Bullock is apple pie , perhaps the problem is that Jennifer Aniston is Wonder Bread. Jen's days as an actress are not over, but as a movie star, the jury is definitely out - way out !"

Mel Robbins, life coach and host of "The Mel Robbins Show' adds, "We don't actually love Jen, we feel sorry for her. I think once  'Friends' ended and her marriage to Brad Pitt was over, her stardom died too. We only care about her because she's an underdog. We wont to see her have a baby, get married and fall in love. But she doesn't do it. She's guarded in appearances and interviews , so we don't feel connected with her. Honestly, I don't know who she is or what she stands for - that's why I don't care," says Mel Robbins.

Aniston's next film is a comedy that will have some romantic elements, but could be a crowd pleaser, as she partners with Adam Sandler and his longtime directing partner  Dennis Dugan  in 'Just Go With It."

My spin : We hope you're listening .  Jen, we like you, we really do !

'Expendables' Fends Off 'Vampires' And Other Challengers: Box Office reports August 20-22

The aging warriors of the 'Expandables' fended off five (5) new challengers to maintain the  No. 1 spot at the box office for the second week in a row. Of the five (5) newcomers , only 'vampires Suck'  and 'Lottery Ticket' met pre-release expectations.

Even with the addition of 'Piranha  3D' this week , 'Expandables ' remained the pulpy thrill machine of choice  for moviegoers , earning another $16.5 million , according to studios estimates . Word of mouth for Sylvester Stallone's action hit remained strong, leading to an estimated 10-day total of $64.9 million.
'Vampires Suck' opened at No. 2 as the weekend's top comedy . The  'Twilight ' spoof opened wide , on 3,233 screens , taking in an estimated $12.2 million from friday to Sunday. Added two extra days of cash it earned by opening on Wednesday, the movie's total take so far is $18.6 million.

'Vampires ' edged out last week's second-placed movie ' Eat  Pray  Love' by just $200,000. Comimg in third, the Julia Roberts travelogue earned an eatimated $12.o million, for a two-weekend take of $47.1 million.
'Lottery Ticket' opening in fourth place , did better  than expected , earning  an estimated $11.1 million . The smallest of the five major new releases this week, opening on 1,973 screens, the comedy also had the best per-screen  average ($5,639) among this weeks's wide  releases.

At No. # 5 was the action comedy  'The Other Guys,' at an estimated $10.1 million . After  three weeks , it's still the widest-release movie currently playing (3,472 screens),  with  a total to date of $88.2 million.

According to early estimates,  'Piranha 3D' opened just a hair behind  'The other Guys,' missing out  on a top 5 opening by just $65,000. Its $10,035 million marks one of the lowest opening for a 3-D movie this year.  Blame the screen count ; it debuted  in just 2,470 venues . Still, it had a per-theater average of $4,063. Had it played just 16 more screens, it could have made  the top 5.

'Nanny McPhee Returns' was the only family movie opening this weekend ; that plus its strong reviews  and  moderately large theater count (2,784 venues ) should have helped the film bring in $10 or $11 million.  Instead , it made just $8.3 million, according to studio estimates, good for a seventh-place  opening.

The week's final new movie , 'The Switch,' had the biggest  star power  (Jennifer Aniston , Jason Bateman ) but the weakest opening. The romantic  comedy average $4,026 er screen , nearly the same as 'Piranha 3D,' but it opened on just 2,012 screens, for an estimated  total of $18.1 million, just $210,000 behind  'Nanny McPhee Returns.'
The full top ten :
(1) 'The Expandables,' $16.5 million (3,2 70 screens ), $64.9 million total

MJ Death Mansion For Sale..Zealous Fans Already Calling

The Holmby Hills mansion where Michael Jackson overdosed on Propofol and died is back on the market for a cool $28 mil -- but the owners are asking for roughly $10 million less than they did before MJ kicked the bucket. The 17,171 square foot home on N. Carolwood Drive -- which includes 7 bedrooms, a 7-car garage, and 13 toilets -- was officially put up for sale on Monday ... with an asking price of $28,995,000.

Sources close to the estate say that several MJ fans have already expressed interest -- possibly in an attempt to get a sneak peek inside -- but the owners have required all potential buyers to go through an "extensive pre-qualifying check" before they can even walk in the door.
Back in 2008, the property owner -- Ed Hardy CEO Hubert Guez -- tried selling the place for $38 million ... but when that didn't work out, he agreed to let MJ live in the home while he rehearsed for the "This Is It" tour.  According to RealEstalker.com, Guez had recently tried to rent out the property for $300,000 per month ... but ultimately decided he would try and get rid of it all together, with the discounted price tag.

It's a very nice mansion, nicely decorated, if a little ornate. I'm sure you could be very happy there. Go for it while it's selling at a bargain price.

Oksana Hires Former Prosecutor, ABC News Reporter

Oksana Grigorieva has hired a former Assistant United States Attorney and ABC News correspondent to represent her on all fronts in her legal war with Mel Gibson.  Mary Fulginiti -- a former federal prosecutor who also worked as a defense lawyer and covered a number of stories involving domestic abuse for ABC's "20/20" -- is representing Oksana in connection with the domestic violence investigation targeting Mel and the extortion investigation targeting Oksana.

Fulginiti is partnering with attorney James Spertus ... who was previously reported  hired by Oksana. Turns out ... Oksana first made contact with Fulginiti and she was the one who actually referred Oksana to Spertus. Both Spertus and Fulginiti worked together in the U.S. Attorney's office in L.A.
Fulginiti and Spertus will be brought in to help Oksana in the family law case.
In addition to practicing law and working for ABC, Fulginiti was a frequent guest on talk shows, including "Larry King Live." I wonder how good she is  in an actual courtroom. Has being a TV star dulled her legal mind and her edge?

Wyclef Jean : 'Haiti Has Disqualified Wyclef ' For President

The board of elections in Haiti has officially put an end to hip-hop star and activist Wyclef Jean's attempt to launch a presidential campaign in his homeland. Although the singer was born  in Haiti and has been actively involved in disaster  relief since  the nation was davasted by an earthquake  in January , authorities ruled that he does not quanity to be on the ballot. No reason was given, but sources  believe Jean's longtime residency in  the United States was  behind the decision , as Haiti reportedly requires presidential candidates to live in the country for five (5) years. Now, the musician has issured a statement about the ruling.

Wyclef Jean : "It is with a heavy heart that I tell you today that the board of elections  in Haiti has disqualified me from my run for president  of  my country . Though I disagree  with the ruling , I respectfully accept  the committee's final decision , and I urge my  supporters to do the same. We must all honor the memories of those we've lost - whether in the earthquake , or at anytime - by responding peacefully  and responsibly to this disappointment.
I was inspired to run for president because I know Haiti can become great with the right leadership, and I believe I could be the leader, but, ultimately, we must respect the rule of law in order for our island to become the great nation we all aspire for it to be.
I want to  assure my countrymen that I will continue to work for Haiti's renewal ; though the board has determined that I am not a resident  of Haiti , home is where the heart is - and my heart has  and will always be in Haiti. This ruling just tells me  that I can't officially seek the office of president. More importantly , there is no one who can tell me to stop my work in Haiti. I think of my daughter, Angelina, and it makes me want to redouble my efforts to help all the children in Haiti  better days.
I also want to honor the memory of my father , a minister ; I know that he would tell me that even though I've faced a setback , I must continue in all my good-faith efforts to help Haiti turn a corner to a better and brighter future. Do not think that my role in the future in Haiti is over ; it's just a different role than I had anticipated it to be.
Rest assured , this isn't the end of my efforts to help improve my beloved country but only marks a new beginning.
Signed , Wyclef Jean
My spin : Okay , Wyclef , show us the money...honest , where have you been ?? A lot of people was giving their all and no one heard of you until the subjest of president came up....where have you been all these years...why didn't you keep your citizenship  valid  ???  Just saying......

Mel Flies In a Hypnotist....He Really Needs a Psychiatrist

Mel Gibson recently flew one of Australia's top hypnotists to California for 10 days of treatment at his Malibu home, in an attempt to cope with the scandal surrounding tapes of his volcanic rants at ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
"I gave him a few sessions to help him with the stress he is obviously experiencing at the moment," Rick Collingwood, founder of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis, tells RadarOnline.com. Mel also visited the hypnotist earlier this year, at the end of his rocky relationship with Oksana.
"I must say that he is a far nicer person than what is being portrayed presently in the media," Collingwood  says. "It will be interesting to see the results when all of the truths are revealed during the ongoing legal saga."

Collingwood says hypnosis "can be used very effectively as a therapy for anything that is the human condition, to change behavior and habits -- and also for self improvement." The hypnotist adds Gibson's treatment has concluded.
On the nature of Mel's explosive outbursts, Dr. Carole Lieberman, M.D., psychiatrist, told PopEater: "Mel is driven by his sexual frustration, fear of abandonment and disillusionment at the realization that Oksana doesn't love him, but is merely a gold-digger."
"When someone is recorded issuing death threats and vulgarity to describe the mother of his child, he needs help," forensic psychiatrist and MD Keith Ablow told PopEater's Rob Shuter. "The man on those tapes is full of rage, psychologically disordered and dangerous. He needs immediate psychiatric intervention and comprehensive treatment for years to come."
An insider on Gibson's current film, the Jodie Foster-directed 'The Beaver,' said Mel was in "complete shock" after the tapes leaked, but kept filming.

Leonardo DiCaprio might be a little leery of working with controversy-mired Mel Gibson.  RadarOnline.com is reporting Leo has withdrawn from a Gibson-directed viking film. Asked if Leo still planned to be involved in the project, a source close to the 'Inception' star told Radar, "Not a chance." The film would have been the first collaboration between the two.
If officially confirmed, DiCaprio pulling out could be a major signifier of professional repercussions for Gibson in the wake of his alleged violent and racist rants.
"Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson is not one of them," Radar's insider said, citing DiCaprio's worries of risking his reputation by associating himself with Gibson.
I don't blame you Leo. You worked very hard to build your career to the successful level you have achieved.  It doesn't take much to tear it down. That's a 'dog eat dog' business you're in.

Steven to Be New Judge on Idol

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler has signed a deal to become a judge on American Idol, according to a news report on Wednesday quoting one of his bandmates. Tyler, 62, would fill one of three vacancies left on the four-person panel by the departures of Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres and the reported axing of songwriter Kara DioGuardi. Randy Jackson, the only remaining original judge, is expected to remain with the talent show.
For weeks speculation has centered around Tyler and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez joining Idol, which is undergoing a major restructuring to arrest its ratings decline. National auditions are already under way ahead of the show's Season 10 premiere in January.
Fox and the show's producers have kept largely quiet on the speculation, but Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton has revealed that Tyler's deal is done.
"Steven is doing American Idol. The ink is dry on that," he is quoted as saying as saying.
"Steven is someone who absolutely lives to be in front of an audience, and the people closest to him know how witty and entertaining he can be. I don't know if American Idol will be rock 'n' roll enough for him, but it is an opportunity for millions of people to see another side of Steven Tyler."

Tyler would bring a harder edge to a show where contestants seem to favour soft-pop ballads. The colourful showman can also be counted upon to deliver -- maybe even sing -- witty, Little Richard-style verdicts on the performances.
Aerosmith is on a North American trek that ends on September 16 in Vancouver. The veteran rockers nearly broke up last year amid a feud between Tyler and his bandmates. At the band's Toronto show on Tuesday, Tyler fell off the stage midsong after guitarist Joe Perry backed into him. He was not injured. Fans debated the next day if it was deliberate.
Last year, Tyler broke his shoulder after falling off the stage without any assistance from his bandmates. The group was forced to cancel its tour, and once again put on the back burner any plans to record its first studio album since 2001.
Steven Tyler has performed some great songs, not the least of which is 'Dream On'. Maybe he can pass on the message of that song to discouraged contestants. Maybe he can relate to their feelings and performance jitters. Yes, I think he is probably a pretty good judge of talent. He sure has been performing a long time and has met some very talented musicians. I have to wonder why he was selected over Jennifer Lopez. With Simon Lithgoe on board as well, there will be three male judges. Is that fair??
Perhaps JLO is is too much of a diva for the producers' tastes.
