Will someone please explain the phenomenon of Justin Bieber to me? I just don't get it. What I see is an attractive,slightly effeminate, teenaged boy with a small, reedy, slightly effeminate voice. What's the big deal?

The Stratford, Ont. singer shot to the top of music charts across the globe last summer with his debut track One Time and he has gained a huge fan following during his first year in the spotlight.

The 16-year-old, who was discovered on YouTube.com by record label executives, is now the king of the web - there are more searches for Bieber than anyone else in the world, including previous title holder Gaga.
Bieber also scores three times as many searches as soccer star David Beckham, according to search engine Ask Jeeves. A spokesperson for Ask Jeeves says, "The Bieber is an online sensation. It's as though to millions he only exists on the net."
Maybe it's a case of being in the right place at the right time; when there was a need for a semi talented, sweet faced teenaged singer. I've heard that he is a very nice boy. So what? All Canadians are nice.
I just don't get it.
