Chuck Berry slumped over a keyboard last night during a concert at the Congress Theater in Chicago , and had to be helped off stage . The 84-year-old "Roll Over Beethoven" singer tried to resume the show about 15 minutes later , but was again felling too faint to perform and once more was taken off the stage and checked out by paramedics .
Following an exam by parmedics , Berry got back on stage one last time , but only to thank fans .
Berry then left the stage on his own ... after doing a version of his signature "Duck Walk" and got into a waiting limousine .
According to Chicago Fire departmant spokeman Joe Roccosalva , Berry signed a released saying he felt fine .
My take : Old Chuck Berry always said that's how he roll ... 84-years-old and still doing his signature "Duck Walk'...boy what a hoot that is . [giggles]
I had this very same story in drafts...HA! I didn't even know the guy was still alive, let alone performing on stage. He sure had a lot of staying power.
ReplyDeleteI think I better star checking drafts .
