"American Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe was so impressed with President Obama rendition of Al Green's "Let Stay Together" that he's invited the Commander-in-Chief to perform on the reality show .
Lythgoe tweeted on Monday , "@BarackObama" we love your vocal performance so much we'd love to invite you on to #AmericanIdol this season for a duet with Al Green.
Obama debuted his stellar singing talents during a fundraiser at Harlem's Oppollo Theater earlier this month .
Of course , it's highly unlikely that the President will be except the invitation ... but it's still a pretty cool idea.
