Adele : Tabloid Identifies Man Who Inspired '21'

The man behind Adele's Grammy -winning hit album 21 isn't a producer or a songwriter -- he's a photographer. A tabloid identified Alex Sturrock as Adele. ex-boyfriend , the same man that inspired the scornful, heartbreaking songs "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You."

According to Heat Magazine, Adele and Sturrock dated from the summer of 2008 to April 2009. A friend of the photographer, whose portfolio is available here spilled the beans on the couple's secretive relationship.

"It was an intense period for them," the unnamed source said. "They met through mutual friends and hit it off straight away. He shot her a few times and that was just it. They spent all their time together -- and when they weren't together they would ring each other constantly."

"He's a very normal guy and they'd laugh a lot together, eat junk food and ignore the fact that her career was about to go stratospheric," added Sturrock's pal. "Adele relied on him a lot, he was her best mate as well as her boyfriend and he was very protective of her.

"He'd say no one knew her like he did."

As Spinner previously reported, Adele has forgiven the ex for his undisclosed wrongdoings, saying, "We're becoming friends again." The 23-year-old singer is currently dating 37-year-old Simon Konecki .
