Amy Winehouse : Cremated As Friends , Family Say Farewell With Humor

Family , friends and music execs said goodbye to Amy Winehouse today , where the singer was remembered in a private funeral before being cremated , approximately 150 people attended the service at Edgewarebury Cemetery , including close associates like Kelly Osbourne and Mark Ronson, as well as Winehouse's boyfriend Reg Traviss.

The late singer's father , Mitch , delivered the eulogy that was decribed poignant  but humorous , and many funny remembrances of his daughter's childhood.

"Goodnight my Angel," he said in front of the mourners , "Sleep tight," Mommy and Daddy love you ever so much."

The service , conducted partially in Hebrew in honor of Winehouse's Jewish heritage , concluded ,  after an hour with playing of  Caroline King's  "So Far Away." 

Afterward , the 27-year-old was cremated at the Golders Green Crematorium  as her grandmother had been ,

We hope this poor girl is at peace now , whatever demons were haunting her , they are gone now . Amy , you had a wonderful talent . But you could not overcome the calling of drugs and alcohol ... we will miss you Amy ...may you finally rest in peace .

  2. Today I have read that even Amys mother , who met her daughter two days before her death felt that it was only a question of time when she would die. Unfortunately, a mothers instinct proved right. RIP.

  3. Mothers usually know when their child is on the road to perdition or eternity. Amy was crying out for help. Her mom and dad could have done their duty by Amy a bit better.She might still be alive.
    No one is entirely responsible for her death but they had a hand in it.
