Lindsay Lohan was taken to the hospital in New York on Sunday night with a respiratory ailment.
The actress is said to have been telling associates she’s recently had a case of "walking pneumonia," which some outlets to get out of work.
Late Sunday, however, her condition was severe enough that she was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Her rep tells
Gossip Cop she was having a problem with her asthma, and "was treated and released, and is doing fine."
Another source, however, says it was actually a "chest infection but, because of her asthma, they wanted to be safe."
"She thought she got rid of it before she left for Altanta to shoot
Scary Movie, but obviously she didn’t get enough rest and it came back," says our insider, noting that "she’s on antibiotics" and her hospital trip was "more precautionary" than an emergency.
