Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are getting divorced .
"We have decided to end our marriage" they said in a joint statement .
This was a very difficult decision . We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."
"It is a painful time for all involved," the statement continues , "and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
The couple wed in their Beverly Hills home in 2004.
They have 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.
It's the third divorce for Lopez . Her marriage to Ojani Noa ended in 1997 and she split from back-up dancer Cris Judd in 2001. This will be the second for Marc.
Marc and JLo renewed their vows just last year on their 6th anniversary ...back in May , they gave a steamy performance together on the season finale of 'American Idol."
