Whitney Houston may be coming to the big screen.
The singer is in talks to star opposite "American Idol" alum Jordin Sparks in a remake of the 1976 musical drama Sprakle.
The film inspired by 'The Supremes' , tell's the story of an aspiring group of female singers in Harlem during the early 1960s.
Sparks will may her movie debut , playing the title role , Sparkle Williams , and Houston is in negotiations to depict her mother .
Houston's last major film role was 'The Preacher's Wife' in 1996.
Whitney re-entered rehab for alcohol adiction in May .
