Liam Neeson's Unknown Tops US Box Office

 Liam Neeson, right, co-stars with Frost/Nixon actor Frank Langella in Unknown Liam Neeson has proved himself as an action hero again after his thriller, Unknown, went straight to the top of the North American box office chart. The film, which according to studio estimates took $21.8m on the weekend, follows the success of his 2009 action hit Taken.

 Unknown tells the tale of a botanist who comes out of a coma to find that another man has taken his identity.
Warner Bros' head of distribution, Dan Fellman, said Neeson was "the new man" when it came to action heroes. "He's stepped up to the plate," he added. "Put him in the right role and he's every man's action star."
Liam is an excellent actor and he is proving his versatility. My partner and I have always admired him. And the heart breaking tradgedy he has endured in the last year may give new dimension to his work. Rock on Liam.

3. Gnomeo & Juliet - $19.4m
4. Just Go With It - $18.2m
