Charlie Sheen can still draw a crowd.
The actor’s new FX show "Anger Management" put up huge numbers for its premiere on Thursday night, becoming the most-watched scripted comedy primetime series premiere in cable history.
Sheen’s first "Anger Management" episode was watched by a record 5.47 million total viewers, with that rising to 5.74 million total viewers for Episode 2, which immediately followed.
It was also FX’s most-watched premiere for any type of series.
Sheen is hoping the big audiences stay with the show as its initial 10-episode run continues: If it meets certain benchmarks, "Anger Management" will automatically be picked up for 90 more episodes.
That would guarantee its eventual syndication and untold millions of dollars for Sheen.
Not that he needs it.
