NEW YORK (AP) -- The family of an Arizona shooting range instructor accidentally killed by a 9-year-old girl while he was teaching her to use an Uzi say they feel sorry for the child.
Instructor Charles Vacca was standing next to the girl on Monday at the Last Stop range in White Hills, Arizona, about 60 miles south of Las Vegas, when she squeezed the trigger. The recoil wrenched the Uzi upward, and the 39-year-old Vacca was fatally shot once in the head.

His daughter, 19-year-old Ashley, told NBC's "Today" show (http://nbcnews.to/1ospRJC ) that the family knows it was a tragic accident and something she'll have to live with.
Prosecutors say they will not file charges. The identities of the girl and her family have not been released.
How very sad is this ? Why would a child that young need to learn to shoot a Uzi , what was her parents thinking off ?
ReplyDeleteIt's good they are not bringing charges against the girl , but some one should be held responsible for their actions . Let's start with the parents and the gun range . Lets fix the laws to protect the kids . Children need books not guns .
My wife (Kathy) has a nephew that is on the debate team (8th grade) in Biloxi , Mississippi who was in the state running to go to Washington , DC to compete , his team was knocked out in the 14th round , he learned something valuable , you do not need a gun to make it in this world .
What's happening , is Global Warming gone to everyone's brain .

ReplyDeleteI was flamboggle when I first heard it . All the adults involved should be held responsible for their careless actions .
Shotguns and some assault pistols have a kick to them . Assaults guns of any kind should be out-lawed . I know we have the right to bear arms , but that right do not include guns off that magnitude of power that gun is too powerful for some adults to handle .
How wonderful for your nephew to make it to round 14 ... There are some very smart kids in Biloxi , My son and nephew is on the debate team and they love it . Is your Nephew competing this year ... mine are .
I can't say it's Global Warming ... but one thing is for sure ... when their is a full moon all the crazies come out and hell began .
