A college professor has been given the go-ahead by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to seek punitive damages against actor Johnny Depp .
Robin Eckert, a U.C. Irvine medical professor, filed a lawsuit last April that alleged the "Dark Shadows" actor's bodyguards attacked her while at an Iggy and the Stooges concert at the Hollywood Palladium last December. Eckert, the mother of two, had attended the concert with her husband.
Among the complaints that 53-year-old Eckert filed was that the bodyguards handcuffed her, dragged her on the ground through the arena's VIP area and caused her pants to fall off , acccording to the Los Angeles Times . She also contended that the incident had caused lasting trauma and worsened her fibromyalgia condition. In response, Depp's attorneys asserted in the court papers that Eckert had "consented to any assault and battery" by acting with hostile behavior at the show. The case goes to court on Nov. 12.
Just wondering :
First of all let me just say that some people would pay to be handcuffed and dragged across the floor by Johnny Depp.. But all kidding aside.. I wonder what she did to receive said treatment? I'm sure they didn't just snatch her out of the crowd and where was her husband? I also take note of the fact that she is going after Depp for punitive damages.. Rather than suing the guards themselves or the company they work for. This lends me to believe that she is about money rather than holding a person accountable for their actions or being traumatized.
Too bad there are no picture's of her being dragged handcuffed with her pants down.
So here's the deal, this case was already dismissed in court because she filed it under Jane Doe, rather than her real name. So she has 20 days to figure whether she wants to try it again under her real name. Maybe she had thought that she would be paid off before court, and it did not happen. So this is an old story waiting to see if it is going to be brought up again, somebody didn't do their homework . HeHe
