It's been 31 years since Natalie Wood died under mysterious circumstances. But 2012 proved to be an exceptional year in getting one step closer to resolving the actress's death.
By now, nearly everyone knows the story. On Nov. 29, 1981, the beautiful Hollywood actress drowned off the coast of Catalina Island, Calif. Wood and actor-husband Robert Wagner had boarded a yacht with friend Christopher Walken that Thanksgiving weekend. The married couple got into an alcohol-infused row at night; Wood was found submerged in the water the next morning, dead at 43.
Two crucial developments have happened since Los Angeles homicide detectives reopened Wood's case in Nov. 2011, citing new information. In August, the Los Angeles coroner made a shocking move when it revised Wood's death certificate from accidental drowning to "drowning and other undetermined factors" -- a change that allows for the possibility of foul play. The document also specified that it was "not clearly established" how exactly Wood ended up overboard in the water.
And in September, CBS News uncovered never-before heard audio recordings of Wood's sister Lana discussing her famous sibling's death. The recordings were compiled as part of research for a 2001 biography on Wood by biographer Suzanne Finstad. In them, Lana says that the captain of the boat, Dennis Davern, had called her while drunk and claimed that Wagner (referred to as "RJ") knowingly had neglected to help Wood while she was drowning.
An excerpt from the audio recording is below:
Very interesting video PIC.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the whole thing. I have always believed that Wagner killed her. I did a couple of articles about it 2/3 years ago and was convinced then. Now they have reopened the case and Wagner is a person of interest. I am totally convinced it was him.
I think Wagner bought the captain's silence or maybe threatened him. How could anyone keep a murder to themselves all these years. I guess the statute of limitations is up on most of the possible charges so the captain cannot be charged as an accessory now. He's got nothing to lose by fessing up.
RJ should get the death penalty..he sat there and listened to her drown.
PIC
The stature of limitatins is never up when there is a murder .
ReplyDeleteI think RJ ... the Captain ... Walken ... all three know more about the night Natalie was drowned and the trhee of them formed a pack .
I did 3 posts when they reopen the case this year so that's why I'm following it up .
PIC
I have been following your coverage PIC. I am glad you are staying on top of it.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite possible they may never make a move against RJ after all these years. That would be criminal. He is laughing at the law and has been for thirty years.
Just another celebrity getting away with murder. They seem to have some magic immunity.
It's true there is no statutory limit on murder or on kidnapping. So they could still get him if they put some effort into it.
Luv ya
The cops / prosecutors may be proceeding with caution .
ReplyDeleteMaybe they learned someting from the OJ case ... when the cops / prosecutors rushed in because they thought their case was air tight .
If RJ is quilty and most people think he is ,they lose the case and get solid evidence later that RJ is truly guilty , he can't be tried again for Natalie's death ... because it would be double jeopardy and RJ can just flaunt it in their face without a worry in the world of being punish . Hahaha See I have learned something from working in the office .
Luv ya
Holy crap PIC,
ReplyDeleteYou talk just like a lawyer. Now I wonder why that is...Hmmm!
What you say makes perfect sense. Better that they make sure they can make it stick before they nab him. Beacause RJ can afford the best dream team money can buy.
RJ did okay off Natalie's death; she was far more wealthy than he was.And you can bet he had a few hefty life insurance policies on her too.
She was a big movie star and he never quite got to that status. I always felt he was bitter toward her about that.
Luv ya
You are right again ... Natalie was abigger star [ still is a bigger star] even in death .
ReplyDeleteNatalie made lots of great movies .
The series 'Heart to Heart ' is the biggest thing I can think off.
RJ did a couple of B-rated cowboy movies .
Luv ya
PS : The biggest thing RJ did was 'Heart to Heart'... the no talent bastard ...HEHE
ReplyDeleteRJ and Stepnanie Powers played in that was and he was a dud them ...
I don't think Natalie ever did a TV series ...
Luv Ya
