J.R. Martinez : Draws Standing Ovation & Tears With His Vet Tribute On "DWTS"

J.R. Martinez , the Iraqi war vet turned soap star , drew tears and a standing ovation for his moving routine on Monday .

The actor , who was badly burned and disfigured after he rolled over a land mine in Iraq , danced the rumba with partner Karina Smirnoff to  Tim McGraw's " If You'll Reading This," a song about spouses who lost love ones in the war.

But before Martinez began , he said his performance was a "tribute to the men and women who didn't make it home ."

By the time  Martinez and Smirnoff had finished , the audience was on their feet and there was barely a dry eye in the crowd.

  1. It was very moving. He seems to be a nice man. I wonder if he was an actor before he was deployed to Iraq.
if so, I respect him even more.
