Celebrities Send Prayers Reacts to Bostom Explosion

Two explosions rocked Boston on Monday afternoon, close to the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
The suspected bombs went off, one followed by another, while 26,000 runners were participating in the race and 500,000 spectators watched the sporting event nearby.

The explosions came after the winners crossed the finish line, though there were still many runners in the race.
This year’s marathon was the 117th annual race and was held in memory of the children and teachers killed in the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December.

After the explosions, celebrities quickly took to Twitter to send prayers to the dead and injured, trade information, and even comment on the media coverage.

New Kids on the Block
singer Joey McIntyre competed in the race, tweeting that he escaped the area safely.

"There was an explosion by the finish line about 5 minutes after I finished," he wrote. "I’m ok but I’m sure there are many hurt."
Survivor winner Ethan Zohn was also participating in the marathon, writing on Twitter, "I’m OK. Most importantly, praying for those injured and affected by this. Still don’t have a lot of info. Thanks for your love and concern."

And Olympic Summer Sanders was in her nearby hotel after completing the race, taking to Twitter to ask, "Can anyone tell us what happen near the marathon? Felt two BIG booms that shook our hotel and saw smoke on Boylston."
She soon learned of the tragedy, and was initially stuck in her hotel on lock down, before being evacuated and making her way to Logan Airport.
"Flight still scheduled, really ready to be home & hold my babies. #Boston" she wrote.
