Mel Gibson recently flew one of Australia's top hypnotists to California for 10 days of treatment at his Malibu home, in an attempt to cope with the scandal surrounding tapes of his volcanic rants at ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
"I gave him a few sessions to help him with the stress he is obviously experiencing at the moment," Rick Collingwood, founder of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis, tells RadarOnline.com. Mel also visited the hypnotist earlier this year, at the end of his rocky relationship with Oksana.
"I must say that he is a far nicer person than what is being portrayed presently in the media," Collingwood says. "It will be interesting to see the results when all of the truths are revealed during the ongoing legal saga."
Collingwood says hypnosis "can be used very effectively as a therapy for anything that is the human condition, to change behavior and habits -- and also for self improvement." The hypnotist adds Gibson's treatment has concluded.
On the nature of Mel's explosive outbursts, Dr. Carole Lieberman, M.D., psychiatrist, told PopEater: "Mel is driven by his sexual frustration, fear of abandonment and disillusionment at the realization that Oksana doesn't love him, but is merely a gold-digger."
"When someone is recorded issuing death threats and vulgarity to describe the mother of his child, he needs help," forensic psychiatrist and MD Keith Ablow told PopEater's Rob Shuter. "The man on those tapes is full of rage, psychologically disordered and dangerous. He needs immediate psychiatric intervention and comprehensive treatment for years to come."
An insider on Gibson's current film, the Jodie Foster-directed 'The Beaver,' said Mel was in "complete shock" after the tapes leaked, but kept filming.
Leonardo DiCaprio might be a little leery of working with controversy-mired Mel Gibson. RadarOnline.com is reporting Leo has withdrawn from a Gibson-directed viking film. Asked if Leo still planned to be involved in the project, a source close to the 'Inception' star told Radar, "Not a chance." The film would have been the first collaboration between the two.
If officially confirmed, DiCaprio pulling out could be a major signifier of professional repercussions for Gibson in the wake of his alleged violent and racist rants.
"Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson is not one of them," Radar's insider said, citing DiCaprio's worries of risking his reputation by associating himself with Gibson.
I don't blame you Leo. You worked very hard to build your career to the successful level you have achieved. It doesn't take much to tear it down. That's a 'dog eat dog' business you're in.
Mad Mel don't need a Hypnotist...non do he need a Psychiatrist...
