Yoko Opposes Parole for John's Killer

Thirty years after the murder of her husband and pop culture icon, John Lennon….Yoko Ono is still opposing parole for his killer. Good for her.

Ono says she was trying to be “practical” in asking that Mark David Chapman remain behind bars for fatally shooting the pop legend on Dec. 8, 1980, outside Lennon’s Manhattan apartment building.
Chapman, who has been repeatedly denied parole, is up for review again this month. Yoko says Chapman might be a danger to her, other family members and perhaps even Chapman himself.

Yoko made her remarks at a meeting Thursday of the Television Critics Association. She was discussing a new PBS documentary on Lennon’s life in New York in the 1970s that is scheduled to air this winter.
I think she is right in fearing Chapman's release; any of us would. There is no guarantee the man is cured of his sick obsessions. She and her family would have to live in fear for the rest of their lives.

John Lennon would have been 70 in October. Wow!

  1. Hi PIC,just on my way to bed. Hope you had a nice day with family and I hope Aunt May is better.I also hope that everyone has settled down a bit. Aunt Mae doesn't need any more stress. I think that stress brought on her heart attack.

We had a good day and plan on a nice little picnic tomorrow.I'll check in with you tomorrow night.
Sleep well and hopefully the heat will let up in your part of the country....luv ....PIC

  2. Hi PIC....Sunday evening ...2:40pm ...I had a chance to checked in and thanks so much for asking about aunt Mae...She is doing much better and was released a couple of hours ago and she wants to go back to stay with Sis because she had a lot of friends their that cared about her and they have adopted her as family. Shirley/Leon and Lenny agreed that's where she should be .
You are right the doctors said the stress caused the heart attack and if she hadn't taken a little shot of liquor she may have died.
The first thing aunt Mae wanted was to know how her patient across the street was doing and had Sis or anyone been over to see how she was and Sis told her yes.
Dad is not to good yet, he's still in a foul mood and he read the roit act to Leon...girl I wanted to laugh so bad but I held it in.
Dad told Leon that he didn't raise him that way he raised him to be a man...Dad told Leon if he has to be pussy-whipped not to let the whole world know it.
I hear Betts called her sister to come help her get her things together to go back to Reno , I will find out more from Shirley later.

Glad you had a good day yesterday and sweetie I hope today be even better , having a picnic today is even better and who knows what that may lead up to...I will have to talk with Maxy he will give me the lowdown. [giggles]

Take care and have enough fun for me....HUGS...PIC

  4. You keep your cool sweetie.Cooler heads always prevail. Someone has to be the voice of reason among all that chaos.Gil can't always be there.
    Betts is history now. Too
bad she left such a bad taste in everyone's mouth. But they'll all get over her pretty quick.
The lesson that came out of this is not that Leon should be stronger but that Mae's heart can't take any stress. That should be everyone's number one priority. This heart attack was just a warning that a much worse one could happen under the next stressful circumstance. So everyone in the family should be aware and responsible and you're there to make sure they are careful around her.
You're a very good lady with a lot of heart. I think you are a lot like your big sister. Both the Italian side and the Creole side seem very loyal to family. That's a nice thing.
Well we had a fabulous day. Peaceful, calm, quiet except for birds singing and fish jumping. It was very intimate. We loved the meal and each other's company. It was totally without stress and no cell phone allowed. We didn't even play the stereo. We just looked at the water and talked about our concerns and read for a bit. We came home feeling so refreshed and stronger and very loving. May you feel what I feel right now...luv PIC
